Bird Friendly Coffee
If you’re wondering what coffee would taste like if it were Smithsonian approved, we can help you find out.
We carry 340g bags of beans and ground coffee from Birds and Beans, all of which bear the gold seal stamp of the Smithsonian’s National Zoo & Conservation Biology Institute, the highest environmental standard in sustainable coffee and cocoa production.
Bird friendly coffee means the beans have grown in habitats meeting strict criteria in the name of supporting native and migrating birds. The height of the canopy is only one element, as illustrated in the poster above; other conditions required include native plant diversity, buffer zones and leaf litter on the ground (we know how much migrating thrushes love their leaf litter).
Will Smithsonian coffee that’s made in the shade taste different? We think so. But there’s only one way to find out. Imagine enjoying a morning cup of Bird Friendly coffee to a sounds of summer birds chattering ~ it may well be the sound of birds thanking you. ~
