It was a great treat to visit The Kawartha Environment Centre at Trent University in January. I felt like a kid again. Tromping around in the snow and feeding chickadees from my hand. This centre is truly a gem for the City and County of Peterborough.
Kids come to this centre and also Camp Kawartha to learn about the outdoors, wildlife and the way the world works.
Jacob Rodenburg was my guest and shares some thoughts on why it’s important to get kids outside and interested in nature.
Feeding the birds is one little thing you can do to get kids looking outside of their normal realm.
The Kawartha Environment Centre and Camp Kawartha run various programs for kids all throughout the year. There are some great programs coming up for March break. I hope you’ll check them out!
